Welcome to the new 2009-10 school year. I hope that all of you had a fun and safe summer. It's hard to believe that another school year is just beginning. The PTA will be trying to give our kids a fun and educational school year. My name is Marina Alioto and I will be your new PTA President. We have some fun activities planned for your kids like Scholastic Book Fair, Halloween Happenings, Market Day, Santa's Secret Shop and much more.
The first fun activity that we have is Scholastic Book Fair starting on September 14th through September 16th. The theme this year is "Destination". We are trying to let the kids imagine where in the world they would like to travel. Come and check it out on September 15th at Open House.
We have so many things to check out at Open House. We will be having a membership table for you to become a member and see all the new benefits that you receive for becoming a member. There will also be a volunteer form for those of you that are able to volunteer and a job description to see if you would like to help out with a committee. We will also be having popcorn samples from Popcorn Palace. This will be a fundraiser that we will be having in November through December. One more table that you must stop at is the Market Day table. There will be flyers that explain a drawing that will be happening in the month of October.
It is a joy to have fun activities for the family and kids, but we always need help in running them. Please sign up as a member. The investment is small: $4.50 for a single, $7.00 for two. This will help us to get some funds to have these activites. But we also need you to help us out. Come join the PTA for the benefit of the kids and the things that make school fun.
