Grocery Bag Earth Day Project 4/22/10
Students in grades prek-5th decorated Earth Day messages on grocery bags donated by Jewel store located on 10203 W Grand Ave. You can see all the beautifully decorated bags at Jewel on April 22nd.

Pennies for Patients (February)

Students are collecting pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters during the Pennies for Patients campaign benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Students will collect pennies to raise money for schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Read for the Record (October)

Students in grades Pre-K through 1st Grade participated in the "Read for the Record"
Project. On October 8, 2009, students read Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" as part of a event to try to read one book across the world. This year's goal was 1,000,000 (one million) readers. The goal was reached! Thanks Westdale students for being a part of a reading community.

Fire Safety Week (Oct. 5-9)

Westdale students learned a lot during Fire Safety Week. They partipated in different activities, looked at exciting websites, and the first grade had a special visitor. Ben the firefighter came by on Monday Oct. 5th to talk to the first graders about fire safety.
