An important goal of the Library Media Center is to provide an atmosphere that promotes a love of books and reading for all students.  

Access

All students are scheduled for a library period with their class once a week for book check-out.  In addition to the scheduled library period, students many visit the library any time throughout the week to check-out library books.

Checkout

Kindergarten students may check out 1 book at a time.  It is due in 1 week and must be returned before another book may be borrowed.  All other students may check out 2 books for a period of 1 week.  Books may be renewed 2 times. 

Overdue and Lost Books

Overdue notices are sent to teachers weekly.  A fine of 1 cent per book per day is charged for students in First through Sixth grade.  When fines amount to more than 10 cents, students will be limited to checking one book at a time until fine is paid.  Students who lose or damage library books will be asked to pay the current replacement cost.  Refunds will be given is the books is returned in good condition within the current school year.
