Overview

 

This web quest will focus on identification of earth's resources and ways to preserve them. 

Grade 1 Science / Social Studies / Language Arts

Science: 12.B  Know and apply concepts that describe how living things interact with each other and with their environment.
Science: 12.E Know and apply concepts that describe the features and processes of the Earth and its resources.
English/Language Arts: 1.C Comprehend a broad range of reading materials.
3.A Use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization and structure.
3.B Compose well-organized and coherent writing for specific purposes an audiences.
5.A Locate, organize, and use information from various sources to answer questions, solve problems and communicate ideas.
5.B Analyze and evaluate information acquired from various sources.
5.C Apply acquired information, concepts and ideas to communicate in a variety of formats

Students will use internet sites, laser disks, CD Roms, books and Kid Pix Deluxe.

Earth Needs Your Help!  We are wasting precious parts of Earth. It is your job to think of ways you can save resources before it's too late! 

Questions and Task

What are some things you can do to save Earth's resources?  You will work with a partner to find a way to help save one resource.


Process

You may look at web sites, the laser disk, books, and CD Roms to find a resource that you want to protect. Share ways you can save this resource. Design a book page using Kid Pix Deluxe. This will be used to make a slide show or a book to be shared with another class.
