Questions and Task

Your group will be responsible for introducing elementary age children who are visiting from other states to the important attractions of the state of Illinois. You will be doing this by designing a brochure for these children including eight of the following interesting features: agriculture, history, government, city/rural life, industry, important people, environment, economy, weather, wildlife, recreation, and sports.

It is important to include explanations, details, and graphics to make your brochure colorful and interesting.

Process

1.  With a partner, you will research and take notes on all twelve attractions of the State of Illinois previously mentioned in the task section.

2.  Together discuss each attraction and choose eight for further research to be included in your brochure.

3.  For each of these eight attractions, you must explain the importance of this attraction for the State of Illinois.

4.  Using the template link in the resource section, design your brochure including the researched information and appropriate illustrations.  Make it interesting for students your age.

5.  To include graphics, log onto designated sites in the research section and find appropriate graphics for each attraction.
