What were the effects of
Native Americans on Lewis and Clark's expedition?
When you have completed
gathering your information about the expedition, you and your partner will
choose one of the following:
Create a poster:
After learning about the Native American tribes Lewis
and Clark met on their expedition, draw or find pictures (copy and paste
from internet or other resources) of the Native American tribes, and write
captions for each of the drawings. You should include at least 5-10
tribe pictures and captions. Be sure to decorate your poster creatively
and include a title and your name(s).
Write 3 journal entries:
Imagine that you are one of the members of the corp. In journal
entry 1, you will be explaining about three Native American tribes that
you encountered. In journal entry 2, you need to include one contribution
that each Native American tribe made to your expedition. In journal entry
3 you will inform Thomas Jefferson why it was important to meet Sacajewa
and other Native Americans during your exploration. Your journal entries
need to be bound and placed in a notebook resembling an old fashioned journal.
Design a powerpoint presentation:
Based on the research you have gathered on the Native
American tribes that Lewis and Clark encountered on their expedition, design
a 8-12 slide powerpoint presentation describing several of the tribe(s)
and their significant contributions to the expedition. Your powerpoint
needs to include visual(s), like pictures of the tribes and maps of their
locations and an explanation of the contribution that they made. Your
final slide should include an explanation of what would have happened if
they didn't encounter the Native Americans. Be sure to include a title slide.
You and your
partner will be on the exploration corps of Lewis and Clark. As you
travel across the Northwest Territory, you will come in contact with many
Native American tribes. Some tribes helped the expedition survive the
journey through this unexplored land.
First, you
will need to gather information about the expedition of Lewis and Clark.
You need to find tribes that you encountered, their location, any interesting
experiences with them, and one contribution of the tribe to your crew.
