School Breakfast Program

The “Childhood Hunger Relief Act” was recently passed by the State of Illinois. This legislation requires schools which 40% or more of the students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch to implement a school breakfast program. Due to this, Mannheim Middle School, Roy School, Scott School and Westdale School will implement a school breakfast program in school year 2005/2006.

Details of the program are as follows:
Breakfast Serving Times
Elementary Schools: 8:20 a.m. – 8:40 a.m.
Middle School: 7:30 a.m. – 7:50 a.m.Prices
Student – Full Paid $1.00
Student – Reduced $ .30

Wednesday, August 31, 2005 is the first day breakfast will be served. Breakfast will be served on all school days with the exception of “late start” school days.

Breakfast tickets will be available for purchase just as lunch tickets are. Applications for free and reduced-price meals are available in the school office and also on our district website, www.d83.org.
