On Saturday, March 8, the Mannheim Middle School Concert Orchestra attended the annual Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) contest festival at the local level in Addison, IL.

Ensembles attending the event can receive a rating of a I, II, or III. Groups receiving a rating of ‘I’ can advance to the state IGSMA festival.

The MMS Concert Orchestra received a Division I rating. Each student received a medal and the ensemble received a certificate.

On Saturday, April 26, the orchestra attended the state festival in Villa Park and received a Division I rating. Every student received another medal and the orchestra received a plaque for their efforts.

On Tuesday, April 29, the Mannheim Middle School Chamber Orchestra performed in Alsip, IL for the annual Illinois Association of School Boards dinner and meeting. The orchestra had a great time performing and was well received by attending administrators and school board members.
