Mannheim School District 83 has conducted potable (drinkable) water testing for lead content as per the State of Illinois SB 0550. This senate bill states that Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 schools must be tested and results submitted to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The results for Roy School, Scott School, Westdale School, Enger School and the Mannheim Early Childhood Center, came back under the 5ppb (parts per billion) allowed by Illinois state guidelines.

Parents and staff may contact my office at 847-455-4413, extension 1227, or access https://www.epa.gov/ground-water-and-drinking-water/basic-information-about-lead-drinking-water for additional information. Test results are available upon request from Carleton@d83.org.

Sincerely,

Ron Carleton
