Westdale Weekly March 15

Westdale Weekly March 15

We are excited for tomorrow when we will have more students come to school for in -person learning for the 4th quarter.  The doors open at 8:45am for the morning session and 12:45pm for the afternoon session.  We ask car riders to pull up to the crossing guard and let your child out by the crosswalk.  Students will enter the school at Door #17.  If you are late to school, please go to the front office door at Door #1.   You should have received a letter in the mail indicating if you are able to use the bus.  All students need to come to school wearing a mask and the school uniform.

Next week, we will have virtual parent and teacher conferences on Tuesday, March 23rd and Thursday, March 25th from 4:30pm-8:00pm.  You should have signed up for your conferences on PowerSchool.  Last Thursday, a code to sign up for conferences was sent to your email address and texted to your phone.  If you have not signed up for conferences, please do so today.

During the conference nights, we will have Kindergarten registration.  If you have a child who will attend Kindergarten in the Fall, please come to one of the conference nights to prove residency and register your child for Kindergarten.  For everyone’s safety, we ask that you come on your own and that you do not bring children with you.  We will only allow one parent in the school to register.  Please bring your child’s original birth certificate and proof of residence.  The registration hours are from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Erin’s Law, House Bill 6193 was signed on January 24, 2013. This law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness and prevention curriculum for grades pre-K through 12.  This Month, Westdale’s Hybrid Students will view a pre-recorded presentation on Sexual Abuse Awareness.  Please refer to Mr. Petroline’s post on Class Dojo for more information.  If you want to have your child opt out, please contact your child’s teacher.

The Mannheim Early Childhood Center is holding Virtual Preschool screenings for March and April. Please contact the MECC office to get on the screening list.  Please note that a screening must take place to see if your child qualifies for the Pre-K program. Mannheim Early Childhood Center is currently filling up spots for the remainder of this year and registering students for the 21-22 school year.
