S/L Areas of Focus

Articulation/Phonology: speaking intelligibly and without specific sound errors or incorrect speech patterns


Receptive and Expressive Language:  the understanding and use of language including vocabulary, grammar, and syntax


Auditory Processing:  skills specifically related to listening including sound discrimination, phonemic awareness, memory, and comprehension

Pragmatics: the use of language for the purpose of interacting with others


Fluency:  speaking fluently without stuttering or cluttering


Voice: speaking with acceptable vocal quality
