Today is National Custodian Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible custodial team at Roy School.
Our custodians do so much more than keep our building clean. They help create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our students, staff, and families each day. Their hard work, dedication, and care often happen behind the scenes, but their impact is felt throughout our entire school community.
We are grateful for everything they do to help Roy School be a place where students can explore, grow, and roar for more. Please join us in thanking our custodial team for all they do for our Roy School Community.

Please be aware of a temporary change to after school late bus transportation for this Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Due to a special event at Mannheim Middle School, Roy students riding the late bus on Thursday, October 1, 2026 will not transfer buses at Mannheim Middle School. Instead, Bus 33 will pick up students directly from Roy School at approximately 4:40 p.m. and take them to their regular late-run stops. This change is for Thursday, October 1, 2026 only. If you have any questions, Please contact the main office. Thank you!

Attendance Weekly Percentage Update!!Let's go Roy Bulls!!!
Dear Roy School Families,
The safety of our students is always our number one priority. The Northlake Police Department informed us today that officers will begin more closely monitoring traffic around Roy School during arrival and dismissal. Drivers who do not follow posted traffic signs, parking restrictions, or who block residential driveways may be issued a ticket.
We ask all parents, guardians, and caregivers to follow posted signs, use designated drop-off and pick-up areas, avoid restricted parking areas and driveways, and drive slowly and carefully around the school.
Arrival and dismissal are extremely busy times, and everyone’s cooperation is essential. Taking a few extra minutes and following established traffic procedures helps ensure that our students, families, staff, and neighbors remain safe.

UPDATE - 7:00 PM arrival
Estimated time of arrival for 5th grade students coming back from Camp Duncan is now 7:00 pm - 7:15 pm. If students are taking the bus home, they will be delayed . I will provide another update for bus riders once they return.

We have a small but important ask for all Roy families. If you are unfamiliar with the PTA or would like to learn more about what it does, please consider attending one of our monthly meetings, in person or virtually, as listed on our school calendar.
Growing our Roy PTA is extremely important to our school community. We understand that work, student's activities, and everyday family responsibilities can make it difficult to attend meetings or volunteer regularly. Participating does not mean committing to every meeting or event. Whether you attend one meeting, volunteer for one activity, share an idea, or help behind the scenes, every contribution makes a difference.
Our PTA helps provide special events, student activities, family experiences, and additional resources for our school. To continue offering these opportunities, we need more families to become involved. Every family brings valuable ideas, talents, and perspectives—and we would love to have your voice represented.
Please consider joining us in whatever way works best for your family. Together, we can continue making Roy School a wonderful place for our students, staff, and families!
