
Congratulations to our West 40 School Citizen Of The Year (SCOTY) winner, Arsenal Cuevas! Arsenal and her family will be attending the SCOTY Ceremony at West Leyden High School later on this evening. WAY TO GO Arsenal!! We are so proud of you!
Arsenal Cuevas is an exceptional role model and consistently demonstrates the qualities of a good citizen. She is an enthusiastic student that enjoys pushing herself in her academics to expand her learning. She has a high level of knowledge that she is able to share with her teachers and her peers during discussions to create meaningful conversations. She is a highly skilled writer and is able to express her ideas in an intelligent and creative way. With her classmates, Arsenal is courteous and helpful. She is willing to go above and beyond to provide support to her peers. Arsenal is also an active member and very talented singer of Roy School Chorus.


We had a large amount of families sign up for movie night & because of that we closed the RSVP forms due to number of participants & amount of donated items. In the future we plan to have another movie night. We will have an ice cream social soon, and have a RSVP closing date for that.

Kindergarten has been busy learning about shapes and showing what they know with toothpicks and marshmallows to make their shapes. They also demonstrated their learning by 3D printing shapes they designed.




4th graders have been thinking outside the box to create their leprechaun traps and solve the clues to open the breakout boxes!




Franklin Park Fire Department came to speak to Mrs Barlock and Mrs O’Malley’s Class about fire safety.


Thursday, March 21, 2024 is our PTA Sponsored Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. We will be watching The Super Mario Brothers Movie in the Multipurpose Room. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Families can bring blankets, pillows, etc. Families will receive free water and free popcorn that will be donated by York Movie Theatre in Elmhurst. Families can park on the black top in the back of the school (enter through the teacher parking lot) and then enter through door 20. If you have not yet RSVP’d, please do so using the links below.

Attention All Babies and Toddlers! Bring your family to celebrate the future of District 83 at our Mini Mannheimer Open House at Mannheim Middle School on Thursday, April 18, 2024. We will have play areas, parent information, a gift card raffle, and free toys and books for all babies and toddlers, ages birth to 3 years old, who attend! Doors are open from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Come when you can for some fun! We can’t wait to meet you!

Our 2nd grade Roy Historians got to put their hands on history this week with a visit from Ms. Jesse from the Elmhurst History Museum. They learned how things have changed and compared the past to the present. #D83shines #RoyBulls
