If they turn them in to Mrs. Darst they'll be entered into a prize drawing for signed books or a pizza lunch when we have our author & illustrator visit in March.

World Read Aloud Day is Wednesday 2/1 #WRAD
When you read with your child it’s great to talk about the book and these questions may help guide that discussion! Happy reading! #RoyBulls #D83shines

Mannheim Early Childhood Center is holding their annual district wide preschool screening. If you have a child who is between the ages of 2.6 - 4 years of age, who is not enrolled at the MECC, please schedule a preschool screening by calling the MECC at 847-455-3611. Please note, if your child is already enrolled at the MECC, you do not need to re-screen for the 23-24 school year.

Wednesday, February 1 is World Read Aloud Day! Where do you and your reader(s) like to read? Make a plan to read aloud with your student on 2/1/23 and celebrate World Read Aloud Day! We’ll be celebrating at school with special guest readers in each classroom! Ask your student who read to them and what book they heard on World Read Aloud Day next week.

Happy 100th day of school #RoyBulls! The school year is flying by! #D83shines

Hello Roy Families!
Parents across Illinois once again have an opportunity to participate in the annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of your child’s school as it relates to the important elements of school effectiveness.
On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois 5Essentials Survey is administered online by the University of Chicago. All survey responses will be kept confidential. The state will provide survey results for individual schools only if a school has at least 20 percent of parents take the survey. If you have children attending more than one school, we ask that you complete the survey for each school.
To take this short survey:
1. Visit 5 Essentials Survey Link -
https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/
2. Type and select “Cook” as "County." (The county is the location of the school district's main office.)
3. Type "Roy" for the school's name
