
Thursday, 1/19, is Kindness to the Rescue- Be a super friend (wear your favorite superhero shirt)! Students will make cards for nurses, doctors, senior citizens, and/or patients. Cards will be delivered to Ascension Living Casa Scalabrini Village & Kindred Hospital.

Remember that tomorrow, January 18, is an early release. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. (Noon).

4th graders printed their snowflake designs using the 3D printers at Roy as part of a makerspace project after reading about the different snowflake designs in nature!

Roy PTA is excited to host our 1st Restaurant Night of the school year!
Mark your calendars and come out and support our PTA on Wednesday, January 25th. 15% of the proceeds of sales between 10:30am - 8:00pm will be donated to our PTA.
Funds raised throughout the school year benefit our students through assemblies, author visits, birthday books, scholarships and other educational opportunities.

New year, new reading challenge! Students are receiving a bookmark during their first library class of 2023. They will color in a book each time they finish reading a book. When all the books are filled in they can turn in the bookmark for a prize! #D83shines #RoyBulls


Remember to bring back your reading log from winter break to get your Chicago Wolves ticket! Our top 2 readers (with the most minutes) will receive a tshirt too! Logs will be accepted until Friday, January 13.

Enjoy the winter break with your families! Students will be off of school December 22 through January 4th. Classes resume January 5th at 10:30am due to a delayed start.


Students are making festive creations with legos and other blocks during library this week! Here are some photos of Ms. Nunley's class and their work!





This week in makerspace, students used old book pages and repurposed them to make ornaments.




Students will be participating in a winter break reading challenge using a Chicago Wolves reading log. If students read 150 minutes or more over break they will earn a coupon for a free ticket to a Chicago Wolves hockey game! Also, the top 2 readers (with the most minutes read over break) will receive a Chicago Wolves t-shirt!


Congratulations to the finalists from each of the 4th grade classes who made it to the Chariot Challenge finals. The overall winners were from Mrs. Stajduhar's class! Way to go Roy Bulls! Here is the video of the race if you'd like to watch:
