Our elementary band and orchestra concerts are back live! Monday, May 2, 2022 beginning and intermediate band students will perform at Mannheim Middle School at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 beginning, intermediate, and advanced orchestra students will also perform at Mannheim Middle School at 6:30 p.m. Students on both days must arrive at Mannheim Middle School by 6:00 p.m. to practice and warm up. Please remember to bring your instrument, folder, and music. D83 concerts are back! LET’S GO!!

Hello! This is Joe Stanislao, Principal of Roy School, with the Roy School Messenger for the week of April 25, 2022.
IAR testing has been completed for grades 3-5. Thank you parents and guardians for your assistance in making sure all of our students were in attendance during this testing period.
We would like to congratulate Sebastian Silva and Nataly Velaquez for being named Roy School Citizen of the Year (SCOTY) award winners. Each school year, selected fifth grade students are nominated by their classroom teacher and then the whole teaching staff votes to select two students that demonstrate good school citizenship, leadership, and are models for others to follow. Grades and activities are also important considerations of the selection process. Sebastian and Nataly were honored on March 21, 2022 at West Leyden High School where West 40 presented the 26th Annual SCOTY Awards. Both students and their families also attended the Mannheim Board Of Education meeting on April 12, 2022 and were recognized for being outstanding students and leaders in Mannheim District 83. Way to go Sebastian and Nataly! We are so proud of you and thank you for helping make Roy School a better place for all of us!

Sebastian Silva has been a leader in his class since the beginning of the year. He works hard to complete his work and works thoroughly to make sure he turns in his best work. He often spends time assisting scholars when he is done with his work and does so without being told. He is helpful and charitable. He often tries to remind students of expectations by modeling good behavior and giving respectful reminders to the class. Sebastian Silva is an outspoken student who has helped other students who are more shy receive praise that may go unnoticed by others

Nataly Velazquez is a role model to all students at Roy. She has a positive attitude and a love of learning. She believes in working hard and perseveres. Nataly cooperates with her classmates and treats others with respect. Nataly helps out others each and everyday. She volunteers to help Mrs. Hendricks with her kindergarten class, once a week, during recess. She is also a member of K-Kids and chorus. Nataly is a thoughtful member of our classroom. She is always willing to help out and brightens our day with her smile. She makes Roy a better place to be!
