Congratulations to Ms. Vazquez's class who won the door decorating contest! This 2nd grade class did a variety of lessons and extended their decor beyond their door! They will receive a book for their classroom library from our visiting author, Hena Khan.

Mannheim District 83 will be returning to serving breakfast to students in their classrooms on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Hi Roy Families, Just wanted to remind everyone again to please follow all of the posted street signs, not blocking community members driveways or fire hydrants, and listening to the our District 83 crossing guards during drop off and pick up. Our crossing guards have a very important job to do in keeping everyone safe. Please be respectful and responsible and again follow their directives. We continue to have families during drop off and pick up stopping the flow of traffic, blocking the crosswalk, and parking on the wrong side of the street when turning eastbound on Lyndale coming from southbound on Roy or heading eastbound on Lyndale coming from westbound on Lyndale. The Northlake Police Department will issuing citations to families for not following the posted traffic signs. There is plenty of parking for drop off and pick up. Students have to exit and enter vehicles towards the sidewalks, not into oncoming traffic, in addition to using the crosswalks. Safety always is and will continue to be a top priority for Roy students, families, and staff. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe each and every day because it's the Roy School way!! El Departamento de Policía de Northlake emitirá citaciones a las familias por no seguir las señales de tráfico publicadas. Hay un montón de estacionamiento para dejar y recoger. There is no school tomorrow, Monday, February 21, 2022 in honor of President’s Day. Mrs. Petrasek, Superintendent of District 83, sent out a letter on Friday, February 18, 2022 regarding the change to the mask-wearing mandate. Mask wearing is now optional in school. We realize that people will have differing opinions regarding the use of masks, however we ask that students and staff treat everyone with kindness and grace. It’s now a family choice and we expect our Roy community to show respect to others and their choice. Thank you! Tuesday, February, 22, 2022 is “Twosday”. Students can dress as a twin with a friend, wear a shirt or jersey with the number 2 or a tutu to celebrate Twosday! All clothes must be school appropriate. Students not participating in “Twosday” still wear their uniform shirts, pants, or skirts. Thursday, February 24, 2022 is the Roy Bullish After School Program Family Literacy Night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This event is just for students enrolled in the program.
