We are proud to announce and celebrate Martha Diaz, Teacher at Roy School, as the 2024-2025 We83™ Appreciate You - Cultural Mindfulness Employee of the Year!
Martha was nominated by her colleagues for her outstanding commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness throughout our district. She has gone above and beyond in meaningful and creative ways, including:
Spearheading a vibrant mural project that honors global cultures through the inclusion of flags from around the world – a powerful symbol of unity and representation.
Engaging students directly in the mural’s design and creation process, empowering them to share their stories and proudly celebrate their heritage.
Planning an unveiling event that will bring together families, students, and staff for a joyful celebration of our community’s cultural richness – a perfect example of Strategic Goal 3 in action.
Fostering a shared sense of pride and inclusion, connecting people through an artistic and collaborative expression of who we are.
