Mannheim School District 83's New Superintendent

Dr. Diego Giraldo has officially been announced, by the Mannheim School District 83 Board of Education, as the next superintendent of Mannheim School District 83. Dr. Giraldo will be replacing Mrs. Kimberly Petrasek, who will retire on June 30, 2022, after 11 years with District 83.

Dr. Giraldo earned his Bachelor of Education Teaching from Northeastern Illinois University, a Master of School Business from Roosevelt University, and a Doctorate EdD from National-Louis University. Diego has been a bilingual teacher, middle school bilingual teacher, Assistant Dean, Department Chair, PreK K-8 Principal, Chief Officer of Early Learning, Coordinator of Language Programs, and Superintendent of PreK K-12 schools. These many years of experiences have assisted Dr. Giraldo in working with many school personnel in the areas of curriculum and instruction, bilingual education, operations, business, strategic planning, leadership, professional development, grants, budgets, evaluation, and assessments.
