What We Do

The building, grounds and transportation departments share in the role of supporting the district in the educational process of the students of Mannheim School District 83.

The maintenance department is responsible for the daily operation of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The maintenance staff is responsible for all building work orders and preventative maintenance of equipment and the building envelope. The department also maintains the district grounds, providing lawn and snow removal services.

The custodial staff is responsible for the daily/nightly sanitation of our buildings. They strive to provide the safest and cleanest environment for our students, staff and visitors to occupy. They also monitor the nightly use of the facilities by school-sponsored groups as well as outside organizations.

The transportation department safely transports over 1500 students a day to-and-from school. The fleet consists of 20 full size buses and 6 special education buses.
