Mannheim District 83 is a special place where dedicated teachers, staff, and committed community come together to support student success, ensuring student voice. Student Services is proud to play a key role in making this possible. 

Student Services supports our District Mission,”We empower all students to embrace learning, achieve their full potential and build their emotional, social and physical well-being.” We believe in the quality of education we provide to our community. 

Student Services Advocacy: Mannheim District 83 champions students’ needs, ensuring they have access to the programs and services that will help them reach their full potential.

Student Services Role:

  • Social Emotional Support: Driving social-emotional learning (SEL) and strategic partnerships, fostering a well-rounded educational experience for all students.

  • Student Wellness: Providing health services that promote student wellness for mind and body. Collaborating with families requiring student health plans. Ensuring that nurses and medical support staff are providing health services in compliance with IDPH and ISBE. 

  • Behavioral Support: Building positive and safe school environments through behavioral supports, safety and crisis protocols, and growing a culture of collaboration and respect.

  • Compliance and Legal Expertise: Ensuring all IDEA policies and procedures are implemented to meet federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Professional Development: Providing ongoing training opportunities for teachers, staff, and paraprofessionals to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Engagement and Collaboration: Building strong relationships with parents, guardians, and community partners through the sharing of information, resources, and professional development opportunities. Providing resources and connections with experts to foster knowledge growth. Collaborating with West 40 (Tapestry), McKinney-Vento programs, as well as other agencies.

  • Program Management: Overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of special education, MTSS, social-emotional learning, behavioral support programs, and health services, providing an inclusive environment for all learners.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Integrating data to develop an understanding of the whole child while developing targeted supports as needed.

  • Attendance Management: Addressing attendance concerns and supporting students experiencing truancy.

  • Budget Oversight: Aligning students with the support they need to be successful. Managing resources effectively to ensure program sustainability.
