Preschool Screening: Mannheim School District 83 has the annual preschool screening at Mannheim Early Childhood Center, 101 W. Diversey Ave., Northlake, IL.

Screenings are open to children who are residents of District 83 only.  Your child must be 3 years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year.  The screenings are by appointment only and can be made for 2.6 to 5-year-old children by contacting Mannheim Early Childhood Center at (847) 455-3611.

The purpose of the screening is to determine eligibility for one of our preschool classrooms.  Children will be evaluated in areas of speech/language development, hearing, vision, motor skills, concept development, and social development.  In addition, children with a second language will be screened by one of our ESL teachers.

Screenings will take approximately 60 minutes per child.  Results from the screening will be discussed with the parents on that date.  However, notification of placement will be mailed out at a later date.
